As many of you are confusing
in the process of installing SQL Server, we have brought up with these steps
for you people. The below steps will guide in installing SQL server 2008.
Open SQL Server 2008
Double click on "setup"
icon. It will open the below window:
Select "Installation” in
left side of the windows as shown in below figure.
Now select the first option which is "New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an
existing installation" in the right side of the window.
It will open a window aslike below and click on "ok” button.
Select "Enter the product
key" but dont give any key or values here just select it and
press "Next” button as shown in
below figure.
Now accept the licence aggreement
and press "Next” button and
press ”Iinstall” button.
It will open a new window as below.
It is very important to
check this.. u hav to get almost all reports as passed.
If u dont hav internet
connectivity it wiil show an warrning or error message at "Microsoft .NET Application security"
and for people who are having internet connection will not have any problems or
issues in this case. This is not a problem you can install it.. press "Next” icon and it will open the below
window.
Click on "Select All"
button and click on "Next”
icon. It will open another window(Instance
Configuration) dont change any thing there and just click "Next” icon.
Now, it will open "Disk
space Requirements" click on "Next” button.
It will open "Server Configuration”
wizard which is most important aspect in installtion.
Be careful in doing this.. because here only many of you face problems
in installing SQL Server.
First click on SQL server Agent’s
Account name and it is a drop down
list control, so select the option as "NT Authority\system" or "XXXXXXX\system”
i.e.,(second option in drop down list control box) and password as you wish (eg: abc).
Simillary give all the option
as same in remaing four rows: sql server database engine, sql server analysis
services, sql server reporting services,sql server integration services 10.0 and
enter password.
It will open a new window
like below:
Select "Mixed Mode”(SQL
server authenitcation and windows authentication) and give ur password as
u wish.(eg: abc) in both
places. click on ADD button at
bottom it will open another window as below:
Now give some name at the text box control as shown in above pic.. in
my case i hav given NAGI. and click on OK button
It wil open below window and click on "Add” button.
It will open another window as below:
Now give some name at the

Now click on "Next” button
as shown in below figure.
It opens "Reporting Services Configuration” like below. Now, select the first radio button i.e., "Install the native mode default
configuration”. Now click on "Next” button.
In the below window don’t select any options, just click on "Next” button
Again click on "Next”
button and then click on "Install”
icon. It will open progress bar showing the status of installation like
below.
Finally click on "Next”
button and then on "Finish”
button. Then SQL server installion is completed successfully.
Dafault username for
login into SQLServer authentication
is "sa” and password is which your
are given during the process of installation.
Hi sir, Installation of sql server is very helpfull to us but i have a question which one should be loaded directly from online and which suits to out OS example I have a processor 64-bit and in pnline i got 3 links to download which suits and which does not suits to the requirements of PC

hi sir, i have the problem in the instalation of sql server 2008.last to third step in the ready to instalation step it shows the error "prevoius releses of the microsoft visual studio 2008" satus will be "failed" so it shows next button is disabled. we canot move to the next step. whats the solution pls tell me
